WWTBAMFanatics on Hiatus
From the slow news
income and the show to possibly stop airing and go back to a special
series WWTBAMFanatics is now on Haitus

I was hoping it could not come to this but
I had no choice. We are NOT shutting down, just on hold till something
new comes up. When the syndicated version comes up we may come back to
speed. But ABC has disappointed me on how they treated WWTBAM and Regis
on this whole situation. If you have any questions e-mail me at
wwtbamillionaire2000@yahoo.com . Happy Easter and please Enjoy
primetime millionaire while you can.

Who wants to be a
Millionaire....LIVE?!
ABC is considering a
12-night Who Wants to Be a Millionaire miniseries (the original) in
August and early September is leaving debate over a major
question----live.

TVGAMESHOWS.NET
Reports:
The Fox report suggested in an effort to
rekindle the original mystique of the series, the network is considering
airing the dozen shows live.
A passing consideration was given to going live with the original
13 but producers determined the high-tech computerization of the show
would leave the show vulnerable to disaster. So the first shows aired on
a one-night delay.
At least 20 former contestants have e-mailed TVgameshows.net to
suggest they see no way the show could be done live without massive
production adjustments.
"Live would be awesome," said $16,000 winner Tim
Sternberg Sunday night during a call on The Bill Moran Show
on Business Talk Network. "They are going to have to get back to what
made the show so much fun, though, and that includes bringing back the
phone game."
."Game show historian Jim Blalock adds one
more complication to the live dilemma: "Even if they solved the computer
snafus, they would have to put a time limit on the contestants to
answer. Could you imagine tuning in and watching Kati Knudsen deliberate
for 53 minutes over one question? Hardly riveting television."

Regis Says WWTBAM Resumes in
Late Summer
Scheduling of Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire continues but host Regis Philbin dropped
another mystery Tuesday night.
from
http://tvgameshows.net,
Posted Here: 03-13-02
"Philbin said
Millionaire "will continue in late summer and early fall." That came
after Regis broke into a brief version of "Pennies from Heaven." Added
Regis: "They sneak it on every once in a while."
Currently, the ABC website indicates WWTBAM is scheduled for a March
28 airing after a pre-emption the next two weeks and is slated to
appear throughout April. Nothing is firmed for the May sweeps."
Millionaire is looking stable, for
now, the show is not NOW going away but from this news, it looks like
ABC still has some faith in WWTBAM, and Regis looks like he is okay with
it. Lets see what happens later in April. We want to hear your
thoughts, please send us them in,

The Chair to its lowest,
gone in 2 more...
THE BIGGEST
HEARTSTOPPER
"The Chair" cancelled...ABC's slump goes on...
from

The biggest heartstopper was ratings. It
seemed inevitable -- put "The Chair" on against CBS' top-rated comedy
lineup (moving it out of what has been a well-rated game show time slot
for ABC for two years now), and it goes away quickly. And it did. Only 5
million people watched Monday night. That rating is lower than EVERY
other show on the night, including shows on netlets UPN & WB, except for
UPN's "The Hughleys." ABC finished sixth in the 9pm time slot. "The
Chair" will air twice more (March 11th & 18th) and then will go away for
good.
Have you ever wondered,
where did they get that?
WWTBAMFanatics just
found out that Vari*Lite a company which produces and makes lighting for
concerts and tv shows, especially game shows, made the lights for the
WWTBAM NY Studio, including rival show 'Weakest Link'.

"Even
for an industry vet like Hazirjian, Millionaire presents plenty of
unique challenges. Not the least of them is the 40 foot technocrane that
supports one of the production’s main cameras. “It can get very tricky,”
Hazirjian comments. “The crane ranges from 7 to 30 feet high, so you can
have a 30 foot arm swinging all over the place. A lot of the lighting
moves end up being based on that particular piece of equipment. We have
to coordinate cues with it, and also avoid the shadows and other
lighting problems it can cause.” "
"Much of the lighting is designed to
heighten the feelings of intentional
psychological distress that the show imbues in contestants and audience
alike. For example, when host Regis Philbin and his guest are sitting
one on one, there is a conscious effort to create the feeling that the
contestant is somewhat entrapped."

Millionaire back to regular,
but only one show a week
ABC is cutting back
on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" — again.
"We're going to concentrate our efforts on the Thursday edition," said
ABC spokesman Kevin Brockman.

"We're
going to concentrate our efforts on the Thursday edition," said ABC
spokesman Kevin Brockman.
As part of that plan, the show also will return to its roots, and put
regular folks in the hot seat across from host Regis Philbin.
"Millionaire" has been featuring celebrities — this week, for example,
it has spotlighted stars from shows produced by Aaron Spelling.
"What made 'Millionaire' was the fact that everyday people could change
their lives," Brockman said.
The show was launched in summer 1999 to strong ratings. It became a
regular series in January 2000. At one point, five episodes aired in a
week. The strong initial ratings gradually declined, however. In the
last year, the audience has dropped by more than half.

"The Chair will go in Millionaire's
Monday night time slot at 8/7 c, moving from it's current Tuesday night
slot at 8/7 c. This change will take place in late February. Folks,
enjoy Millionaire Primetime while you still can, because at this rate,
it'll surprise me if the show makes it to April."

Down to 1 WWTBAM,
Chair Sacrificed In
ABC
announced Monday morning the network will drop its highest-rated

episode.

The handwriting is not only on the wall----it's over the entire house.
ABC announced Monday morning the network will drop its highest-rated
remaining edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire---the Monday night
episode. The final Monday telecast will be Feb. 25.
Likewise, ABC is preparing to make The Chair a sacrificial lamb by
moving the John McEnroe-hosted game into the guillotine slot Mondays at
9, effective March 4.
The network will replace Monday's Millionaire---which only two weeks ago
edged Fear Factor head-to-head---with a second weekly run of My Wife and
Kids and the return of The Wayne Brady Show.
Georgia game show analyst Jim Blalock said Monday afternoon: "This is
it. The only thing you can say by both of these moves is that ABC is
giving up on the game show format as a prime time entity and if it did
not have a contractual deal for more episodes of both games, it would
probably cancel both of them right now."
Later tonight, TVgameshows.net webmaster Steve Beverly will analyze the
situation in a new All in the Game column. Check out
tvgameshows.net for the all in the game column later tonight. <<<http://tvgameshows.net/column.htm>>

Not
even the reverend from Seventh Heaven could bail out
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire from the Olympic steamroller.
Stephen Collins earned $125,000 for a New York non-profit theatre
group Monday night on the Aaron Spelling Classic TV Millionaire
for Millionaires. However, the Nielsen mark of 4.1/7 was the
lowest ever for Regis and friends. The game even lost to CBS's
48 Hours.

2 BIG
WINNERS ON WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE!
College
Edition shows what WWTBAM should be!

Until late last month, the time gap
between real people appearing on Monday night Who Wants to Be a
Millionaire was so wide, even the best memories could fail.
However, two university students were needed to become the first
multiple quarter-millionaires on the same night on Monday's opening of
the college edition of Real Human Being Millionaire. The
episode was arguably one of the show's most energetic in months.
Nancy Redd, a
Harvard women's studies major from Martinsville, Va., snatched her
$250,000.
She quickly passed on her half-million dollar question asking who
donated the money to purchase the land for the building of the United
Nations (John D. Rockefeller Jr.).
Long Island native Jon Lubin, who attends Penn, opened by
declaring, "Philly is the bomb!" He then went on to win his $250K when
he knew the name of the first manned vehicle to photograph the sunken
wreck of the RMS Titanic was the Alvin.
Justin
Bowers, who also hangs around Philadelphia by attending Temple
University, returns Thursday night for an attempt to match his fellow
college players' success.
Bowers won $300 Monday night and will
return this Thursday 9/8c on ABC to go for one million dollars.
