On August 16, 1999, Who
Wants To Be A Millionaire debuts on ABC. The Show is an immediate hit,
with ratings soaring to 30 million viewers a night. Many memorable
moments happened those first few nights, including Michael Shutterly's
$500,000 win, Doug Van Gundy's dramatic $250,000 win, Tom Coletta's "I'm
a fat man Regis, my heart can't take it" response, Hillary Daw's joyful
$16,000 win, Doug Foster, John McClain, David Honea, and Norman Payne
agonizing over their $32,000 questions, and finally, David Honea's
return due to a bad question having him win $125,000. |

Play "Beat the Millionaire"
on ABC.com's Enhanced TV on December 6, 13, and 20. Here's how it works:
Registered users of GO.com can get the chance to play along with Million
Dollar Winners John Carpenter, Joe Trela, and Bernie Cullen. You must be a
REGISTERED user of GO.com to play along with them, so if you aren't
registered, go to GO.com and register yourself. Remember, only registered
members can win prizes. This should be a fun event - and remember ... you

The "Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire" million dollar winners participating are Bernie Cullen, Joe
Trela, and John Carpenter. As you compete against each night's featured
"Millionaire", your score, along with theirs, will appear on your ETV
application. For these 3 special nights, registered users who beat the
"Millionaire’s" score will be entered into a random drawing for a DVD
player and five DVD’s. In addition, registered users who log on to the ETV
application December 13, 20 and 27 will be entered into a First Prize
random drawing for a Mongoose Valiant Bike and for the Grand Prize random
drawing for a Hyundai Sonata. See
