On August 16, 1999, Who
Wants To Be A Millionaire debuts on ABC. The Show is an immediate hit,
with ratings soaring to 30 million viewers a night. Many memorable
moments happened those first few nights, including Michael Shutterly's
$500,000 win, Doug Van Gundy's dramatic $250,000 win, Tom Coletta's "I'm
a fat man Regis, my heart can't take it" response, Hillary Daw's joyful
$16,000 win, Doug Foster, John McClain, David Honea, and Norman Payne
agonizing over their $32,000 questions, and finally, David Honea's
return due to a bad question having him win $125,000. |

There
will be no special edition airing for the next 2 weeks. The next special
edition is the College Edition II, which will feature college students
playing for the grand prize of $1 Million. The College Edition II will air
on February 4 and 7. After the College Edition, WWTBAM will be having a
new Classic TV Edition. The series has been labled as "Classic TV Aaron
Spelling". If you recall, WWTBAM had its first Classic TV Edition last
March, and to date, it has been one of the most successful celebrity
editions. The Classic TV Edition will air on February 11, 12, and 13. More
information on the past Olympic Edition is below.
SCHEDULE CHANGES AND ADDITIONS: WWTBAM will not air on January 31. For the
Classic TV Edition, "Millionaire" will not only be on Monday, February 11,
but also the following Tuesday and Wednesday. Also, the time for the
Classic TV Shows will not be the regular 8:00 PM hour, but they will air
at 10:00 PM. On Thursday, February 14, WWTBAM will be a repeat. We do not
know what will be repeated, but that show will also be on at 10:00 PM.
Don't forget to watch every Thursday to see regular people from all over
the country go for $1 Million.
