On August 16, 1999, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire debuts on ABC. The Show is an immediate hit, with ratings soaring to 30 million viewers a night. Many memorable moments happened those first few nights, including Michael Shutterly's $500,000 win, Doug Van Gundy's dramatic $250,000 win, Tom Coletta's "I'm a fat man Regis, my heart can't take it" response, Hillary Daw's joyful $16,000 win, Doug Foster, John McClain, David Honea, and Norman Payne agonizing over their $32,000 questions, and finally, David Honea's return due to a bad question having him win $125,000.

This coming weeks Celebrity Edition of Millionaire will air with a Olympic Edition. Airing: Monday, January 7, 8e/7c/10p

Tai Babilonia plays for Camp Laurel, a camp for children living with HIV and AIDS.

Oscar de la Hoya plays for the Oscar de la Hoya Foundation, which is dedicated to providing a safe, sound and positive environment for local children with emphasis on self-esteem and success through hard work.

Mike Eruzione plays for the Winthrop Charity, which he established in 1997 to aid families and programs in need in his hometown of Winthrop, MA.

Mia Hamm plays for The Mia Hamm Foundation, which raises funds for bone marrow disease research and helps to develop programs and initiatives for young women in sports.


Dan Jansen plays for The Dan Jansen Foundation, which he established in honor of his sister. The Foundation helps fund leukemia research, youth sports and educational programs.

Bruce Jenner plays for the Association to Benefit Children (ABC), whose mission is: " … to challenge and to change the myriad threats to childhood."

Marion Jones plays for the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), creating partnerships to assist disadvantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Mary Lou Retton plays for the Children's Miracle Network, an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout North America.
